Rosegarth Guest House

Welcome to Rosegarth

Ian and Sarah welcome you to Rosegarth in the tranquil coastal village of Ravenglass. An ancient village, dating back to the second century, it is built on the site of Glannaventa, a Roman fort and port.

Rosegarth has seven en-suite bedrooms and all but one overlook the beautiful river estuary. The building still retains many original features from the Victorian era when it was the local Doctors Residence and Surgery. We now offer visitors a friendly and comfortable base from which to explore this wonderful corner of the Lake District, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

All our rates include a hearty and full breakfast to help you prepare for the day’s sight seeing and activities. Vegetarian and gluten free options always available. All the rooms are centrally heated. A selection of books, guides, local maps, and tourist information are available for your use.

Ravenglass is the only coastal village within the Lake District National Park, and lies on the estuary of three rivers - the Esk, the Mite and the Irt. The tide comes and goes every day and creates a beautiful and ever changing vista for guests to enjoy. Why not visit us in this often overlooked corner of The Lakes and see for yourself…..

Click on the “Area” tab above for details of local attractions which include the Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway (La’al Ratty) and Muncaster Castle to name but two.

For details of our facilities click the “Rooms” tab above. Please remember we are an old Victorian building and as such some of our rooms are compact. Please contact us directly to discuss your needs if you have any specific requirements.

For prices and current availability select your arrival date and number of nights in the box to the right and click “Check Best Prices!” You will be directed to our secure booking page where all available rooms will be displayed.

Why not leave the car at home and visit us by train? We’re only two minutes walk away from Ravenglass Station on the scenic Cumbria Coast line running between Barrow-in-Furness and Carlisle. The La’al Ratty railway can be used to drop you in the heart of the Eskdale Valley but do check current timetables when planning your day out.
