Fantastyczne miejsce - Rating 5/5

Z czystym sumieniem polecam! Bardzo czysto w całym obiekcie, czyściutkie pokoje, pachnąca pościel. Kosmetyki do kąpieli w łazience, kącik z czajnikiem gdzie można przygotować sobie herbatę, kawę a nawet gorąca czekoladę. Śniadanie poezja! Owoce, jogurty i przepyszne angielskie śniadanie. Piękny widok z okna.

Perfect Location, Rooms, Breakfast.- Rating 5/5

Perfect views, perfect location, perfect hospitality, perfect comfort, as well as spotless. It is by far the best inn in town. Breakfast was spectacular - freshly cut fruit salad, nuts and yogurt to start, then a cornucopia of choice for a hot course that left your palate dancing and your stomach full. Stayed in the smallest rooms in the inn but I did not feel cramped. The layout of the en-suite was right on. Beds were supportive and well appointed. Rooms were well stocked with teas, coffee, snacks and mints. We could park the car and walk literally to three different pubs and eateries in less than a block. By the time I arrived back home I booked my next stay.

Response

Thanks for the kind review Brian. Pleased to see you\'ve already booked the return trip. We look forward to seeing you then. Kind regards, Ian

We arrived in the rain and were given a warm greeting by Neil before receiving the keys to our room. We had a great view of the estuary from the bedroom and bathroom. Both were very clean and comfortable. We liked the extra touches where Neil has provided bottled water, biscuits and drinking chocolate along with the usual tea and coffee. In the bathroom, there were cotton wool balls and buds as well as toiletries. The shower worked really well. The breakfast menu was very good and Neil provided ample portions of well cooked food. Coffee is provided at various strengths, which should cater for all tastes. Everybody was very friendly and we really enjoyed our stay.

Excellent guest house - Rating 5/5

Warm, clean and cosy is how I would describe it. Lots of extras like a large shower with quality fittings in the bathroom, sumptuous towels and tea/coffee making facilities. Plus toiletries, tissues and bottles of water. The cooked breakfast was quite the best I've ever been served with your choice of content to order. The sea view with a sunset was a bonus and having our own front door to the property enabled a swift transfer to our pub next door for dinner. There is also parking to the rear. Can be a squeeze when full but care ensured no disasters.

(This room is not suitable for someone who is quite tall due to low beams) The Rosegarth is a lovely place with attentive staff. Breakfast was plentiful.

Rose Garth Guest House - Rating 5/5

In a word, 'Brilliant', but Rose Garth deserves more than a mere word. Met by Chris on arrival he epitomised the friendly atmosphere that we enjoyed throughout our stay. Our twin bedded room with shower overlooked the courtyard to the rear, and, although a little on the small side, was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Breakfast, cooked to order, was superb and of more than sufficient quantity to prepare one for an active day. The time passed too quickly and all to soon it was time to leave, but in the knowledge that we will certainly try and return as soon as possible, and definitely recommend Rose Garth to our friends. Unfortunately Neil was away at the time of our stay, but the preceding is fair warning that we will return!

Just returned from another stay at the Rosegarth Guest House in Ravenglass. Loved it. Room was fantastic – right at the top of the building with a large velux window so you can see out onto the estuary. Same room as we’ve stayed in all previous visits !!Breakfasts were as spectacular as ever - really were something to look forwards to – what would it look like today ??Sunset on Friday night was gorgeous. Waking up both days, all you could hear was the tinkling of the rigging on the boats moored in the estuaryRavenglass is so quiet, unhurried and relaxing and the Rosegarth is the perfect place to stay whilst there.

Well-appointed gust house in a beautiful location - Rating 5/5

We stayed at Rose Garth for three nights at the end of April-beginning of May 2017, having come over from Ireland on the Dublin-Holyhead ferry and driven up to Cumbria for a long weekend. We stayed in the loft/attic room 7, which was very spacious for a couple, allowing us to leave all our belongings in the twin annex, rather than cluttering the main bedroom. This is just as well because the one shortcoming was the absence of a wardrobe, hangers on a beam beside the main bed being provided instead.Breakfast was very good as were all other facilities, while the hosts were very helpful and attentive without being in any way intrusive. The room also had a touch of quirky old world character with a wonderful view of the estuary. It helped that the weather was far better than forecast.Ravenglass is a very pleasant location, being a picturesque coastal setting unusual in the Lake District and allowing ready access to all the well-known and less well-known attractions of the region. The guest house is also conveniently located for access to the village's pubs and restaurant.I should add that we have a dog, which we did not bring on this occasion, but we noted with approval that both the guest house and the 'Inn at Ravenglass' next door welcome dogs.I have no hesitation in recommending Rose Garth Guest House highly.

Magical - Rating 5/5

We booked our 3 day stay in part on the strength of reviews of Rosegarth and a friend's recommendation of the B+B and the Ravenglass area. This mini break was the best British holiday we have had. Rosegarth is lovely and the service we recived from Neil and his charming team was a model of unobtrusive excellence. The ample breakfasts were grand for setting us up for our long trips out to the surrounding area. The room was perfect with views to the estuary and the Green which will fortify us now we are back in the real world - until the next time! The estuary, the Inn at Ravenglass, the Roman remains, Muncaster and the railways locally and the magnificent fells so close to hand will also be drawing us back to this magical place. Brilliant!

A Cracking Guest House - Rating 5/5

I have had the real pleasure of staying here a few times, this month, and I can honestly say that it is, quite simply, the best little Guest House it has been my pleasure to stay in.I have spent a lot of the past 45 yrs travelling around the country with work and have stayed in the best to the, shall we say barely habitable, so what a pleasure to discover this absolute Gem . The breakfast is easily one of the finest you will ever eat and the care, that Neil & Co take of their guests, is outstanding I have had the pleasure of staying in most of their rooms and have found that they have all been to the highest standard of cleanliness, excellently maintained and the beds are as comfy as you can get.Thank you very much Rosegarth, Top Marks from me !!

Another great stay at Rosegarth. Over the years standards have been kept to the highest and the cheery welcome from Neil makes this a home from home. We have occupied several rooms in the past, but room 7 is the ideal for our two grand kids....looking out over the estuary (a stunning view) looking for seals, birds and "submarines";-))---and don't forget you are so close to the Ratty Railway - Muncaster Castle - the Lakes and many other attractions-----a truly great guest house.

Best breakfast in the northwest - Rating 4/5

We visited Ravenglass for some much needed R& R staying at Rose Garth for two nights. The owner made us very welcome and we had a charming room over looking the back garden (we were offered a superior room at no extra charge but stayed put)it's the little details which always win me over, bottled water along with tea & coffee in your room. A selection of wine glasses and a corkscrew on the landing to help yourself. A small residents lounge with lots of information about the local area plus ordnance survey maps for walkers. The breakfast menu was superb and whatever choice was very generous. Full Cumbrian was delicious and enormous a great start for any walker. The following day we tried scrabbled eggs and smoked salmon, again a very generous portion and perfectly cooked. My only disappointment was I didn't get to try their ice cream which is why I'll be going back

I travelled with a woman friend and we both enjoyed our stay in Rosegarth Guest house and agreed we would be happy to stay there again. All the staff were helpful and courteous. The rooms were spotlessly clean, the beds comfortable and the view over the estuary would have been splendid If the weather had been better! At breakfast the croissants were particularly good. Lovely Guest House - Rating 5/5

We stayed just one night at Rosegarth as we were attending a wedding at the nearby Muncaster Castle but we were very impressed with everything about it.The room we had was small but very clean and comfortable with a lovely view over the estuary. The room had everything we needed - and more. The power shower was wonderful!Breakfasts were delicious (we chose the vegetarian option) and all the staff were friendly and attentive. The only issue I might have if I were staying longer than one night is how would I dry the bath towels before a shower the following day.If that's all you can find 'fault' with then you know you've found a good place to stay in Ravenglass!

Response

Hi Christine, thanks for booking with us and thanks for the review. On the question of towels, if staying for longer than a day Housekeeping will check them and change any that warrant it. Regards Neil

This is a truly excellent guest house:we had a lovely en-suite room with a very comfortable bed and a wonderful view over the estuary-there were even binoculars provided for the ornithologists! Scafell conquered and a rare find. - Rating 5/5

I was on a short walking trip with my father with the aim of walking Scafell to complete a Scafell double. Ravenglass was chosen due to its access to Eskdale and I was pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful spot by the estuary - very tranquil and some amazing sun sets. The guest house was excellent - very well cooked and filling breakfast, good rooms and great hosts. Had our evening meal in the Ratty Arms which was good value. Walked Sacfell then on the next day, the smaller Muncaster Fell and this was combined with a steam train journey. Went to Wasdale Head on final day and drove around to see more of the area. A memorable trip which was based on a welcoming and great value guest house. Thank you to Rose Garth.

Perfect spot in Ravenglass - Rating 5/5

Ravenglass is well worth a visit, for the magnificent estuary, which our room overlooked. The room was spotless and comfortable. We were welcomed cordially, given good advice about a place to have an easy dinner, and then nicely given our space. The next morning, the owner first served a superb breakfast, truly outstanding, and then shared some great ideas about the most worthwhile ways to spend our time in the area. All in all:delightful.

Great time at Rosegarth - Rating 5/5

We have just stayed at Rosegarth for 2 nights. We were a family group of 7 adults. Neil and his family looked after us well. Breakfast was great and plenty to choose from, nothing was too much trouble. I had the ground floor room 8 with it's own entrance and twin beds. It had full length mirror and hair dryer. The bathroom had large walk-in-shower All of the rooms were immaculate. The best thing was the warmth of Neils family.

Just got back from an excellent stay at the Rosegarth Guest House in Ravenglass. Thoroughly enjoyed it.Stayed 2 nights B& B from Tuesday. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival, checked in and shown to our room. We’d stayed there before some 8 years previous and booked into the same room as the one in which we originally stayed.Guest house is right on the front with fantastic view of the estuary (our room was up at the top of the building and had a velux window that opened within the roof).Dog-friendly room was very comfortable with a huge double bed and 2 further single beds along with a lovely en-suite bathroom.Breakfast was excellent and Rosegarth could not do enough for you. Presentation on the plate was second-to-none and it tasted as good as it lookedWe had a really relaxing break;Ravenglass is very quiet and unhurried. There are a couple of eateries within 50 yards of the Rosegarth and within walking distance, a further pub next to La’al Ratty narrow gauge railway and a Roman Bath House. Plus, if you can catch the weather right, you’re treated to the most fantastic sunsetsThank you Rosegarth

Plesant stay - Rating 3/5

I found the room clean and pleasant, however every time the people in the next room walked across the room the floor creaked, I could also hear them talking, as well as the plumbing being noisey which caused a disturbed night. The heating came on in the evening but not the morning so cold getting a shower. The view waslovely and breakfast very nice. A nice friendly place.

We selected Rosegarth as a base for our rail based break. The idea is to leave the car behind and travel on foot with hip flasks ! A guesthouse that is walking distance from a station is essential, a brilliant breakfast, a friendly host, well presented rooms and a superb estuary location all add up to making Rosegarth a great find. Add to it the Ravenglass and eskdale railway on your door step and it becomes a winner

Great place to stay! - Rating 5/5

I've stayed at the Rose Garth Guest House twice now, in connection with the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway, and I'd be more than happy to recommend it to anyone. The staff are very friendly and welcoming;the location is great as are the views across the estuary. The breakfast menu is good too, but it would be even better if grilled kippers were on it! On my most recent stay I had the full works - delicious;and an excellent way to start the day!On the whole I was made to feel welcome and I enjoyed my stay, however, the bed I slept in had some kind of plastic sheet or cover which I had an intolerance to. It made me sweat like I was in a sauna! If I'd been staying more than one night I'd have asked for it to be removed. Despite this gripe I did enjoy my weekend and I'm happy to award it five stars.

Response

Hi Nigel, thanks for the review, tried kippers, complaints from other guests regarding lingering odors! We have changed the mattress cover for a newer, softer type? Regards Neil

The breakfast was amazing, plenty of it. Parking available in back. No complaints. Would stay again without hesitation. Oh, and try their locally made ice cream, delicious

Peace and quiet on the Cumbrian coast. - Rating 5/5

Our second stay at this outstandingly well run luxury bed and breakfast guest house. Ravenglass is a small town on the Lake Districts' western coast where three rivers meet to create a peaceful estuarial setting. Rosegarth has beautiful views over the estuaries to the dunes beyond. We enjoyed the amazing breakfasts offering local produce well cooked and served by Neil and his team. Neil helped us to find some lovely local walks and helped us to sort out a car tyre problem.

I stayed here with my adult son on the way to climb Scafell Pike the following day. We had a friendly welcome and the room was bright and clean with all the facilities you could ask for. Beds were very comfortable. The following morning we were given the most amazing full English breakfast I have ever seen. It was fantastic and I never thought I would say this but - I didn't finish it. I loved this place with it's views across the estuary and I will definitely return one day with my wife. Thank you for making out short stay so pleasurable.

Fantastic stay at Rosegarth. I've stayed here before 4 years ago and the place was even nicer than before. The room was a good size and the bathroom was very nice. When I asked for soya milk they got it in especially. All in all a great stay and highly recommended!
